History

On October 3 1949, C.H. Dekker Sr bought the Dutch transport company Mobron. The company consisted of a 5-ton Ford truck, used to transport livestock. The so-called stock cattle transport took place on Monday. On Tuesday, the truck was used to collect and transport cattle to the local cattle market in Purmerend, north of Amsterdam. And on the remaining days of the week, it was nice to be able to pick up a load of hay or straw for further transport.

But Dekker Sr took a lot of initiative and by 1968, the company had a fleet of six trucks. The cargo package was extended to the transport of timber, rubbish and farm supplies as well as the transport of beets. In this period, the company also served the needs of the port and local industry.

The company was set up as a limited liability company in 1974 as the second generation of the Dekker family began working there. The number of trucks and trailers was more than doubled. In 1992, Dekker set up a holding company with two operational units: Dekker Materiaal BV and the forwarding company C.H. Dekker Expediteurs BV.
With the 1993 acquisition of BV Transportbedrijf J. Helsloot & Zn, which specialized in paper transport, C.H. Dekker became a major and large specialized transporter of paper as well as steel.
Dekker marked its 50th anniversary in 1999 and it continues to grow as a transport company. Our transport fleet now comprises:

  • 1 trucks with trailers
  • 31 trailers
  • 57 trailer units, including:
  • container chassis
